BACK to Children's Work and More

At Lord Deramore's we are proud to have an active school council to

represent all the pupils.  In the autumn term, any child from year 2 -

year 6 can put themselves forward and campaign to be one of their

class representatives, which is then decided by a secret ballot within

each class.

Our school council aims to make playtimes more useful and fun.

We talk about important issues such as bullying.

during 07-08 the school council were responsible for many

initiatives including:

  • suggesting a gardening and cookery club, both of which have taken off
  • organising tropical fruit sales to encourage healthy eating
  • buying and sorting play equipment for use by all children at playtime
  • redecorating the boy's and girl's toilets in Key stage 2
  • organising a competition to design school meals, the winning menus being served to children during a week in july.
