Year 5 were invited to join two other schools at the launch of the
26th annual JORVIK VIKING FESTIVAL.
Joined by the other schools at the Guildhall,
we had our first rehearsal together.
Each school had written a verse of the
song for the performance.
We marched through the city to
the Coppergate Centre in our
amazing costumes.
The Lord Mayor of York, Councillor Sue Galloway,
officially opened the Festival.
Our song was performed in front of
the gathered crowd.
After that we 'Rampaged' back to the
Guildhall, filling the local residents with fear!
In St Sampson's Square we performed our Viking 'Rap', beating our drums and callingto the Viking God Odin!
Back at the Guildhall we performed our
songs again for the Civic Party.
We were even joined by
'Real' Vikings!
