Year 3 & 4 Explore!
As part of our topic about explorers, Year 3 and 4 went on a trip to Snowball Plantation for the day.
We imagined we were explorers going to a new place and did all the things an explorer would do.
For example we made maps of the area then we explored using cameras, notebooks and used the explorer bags we made in design technology to collect and carry things in.
We took some interesting photographs of woodland plants and had great fun in the trees.
Explorers would need special equipment so we asked Terry, who has experience in the army, to show us the special equipment he has used.
We also tried to build a shelter.
Explorers would have needed a fire to cook and keep warm, so we built one in our shelter and toasted marshmallows.
