Year 5 & Year 6 Bake Buns
As part of their topic on World War II,
Years 5 & 6 looked at rationing.
Here are Year 6 baking buns to a traditional recipe
with all the ingredients readily available.
Their next challenge is to come up with a
recipe for buns using only war time rations.
I wonder whether they will enjoy
the fruits of their labour quite so much!

And here are Year 5 baking the 'ration' buns
without eggs and with reduced quantities of sugar.
They were asked to research the ration recipe
and suggest suitable additions to improve
flavour and sweetness.
They must have done a good job because very few of the buns seemed to make it home . . . !
