The Bayeux Tapestry

Years 5 & 6 started their journey through time by first looking at the Bayeux Tapestry and what life was like during the period of The Battle of Hastings.

Year 5 created these colourful

images using felt tip pens. They tried to

draw in the style of the Bayeux Tapestry.

They then chose one part of the story to focus on. These were drawn in more detail using fabric crayons. They had to add text in 'mirror writing' so that it would look correct when it was ironed onto fabric.

Once their designs had been ironed onto the fabric they added stitching to areas they wanted to highlight.

Year 6 used fabrics and stitching to create some incredibly detailed collage images from the Bayeux Tapestry. These made a colourful display in the school hall.
