Heslington East Construction Site
Lord Deramore's Primary School have been lucky enough to take part in a business partnership between the University of York Heslington East Construction Skills Academy.
The partnership will enable the Construction Skills Academy and the school to deliver educational initiatives which raise awareness about and enhance access to the construction industry.
What this means to us is that we can learn from big companies like GMI about how businesses do their work and how you build big buildings like universities in a safe and environmentally friendly way.
We had to get ourselves ready in high vis jackets and safety helmets to tour the site.
We enjoyed learning how to stay safe on a large construction site.
We found out what happens in the boardroom - we were brilliant listeners!
Here we are designing a new school Mr Gove!
We just need a little help to build it now . . . !
