Chinese New Year
In Early Years we have been learning about Chinese New Year.
We looked at the story about how the years got their animal names. We had our own races and made labels to show which animal we were. Did you know that the Rat came first - lots of us thought that he might have cheated!
We found out that we were all born either in the
Year of the Dog or the Year of the Pig.
This year is the Year of the Dragon.
We made a really big dragon using collage materials.
We also made little dragons using concertinaed paper and lolly sticks.
Lisa came into school to talk to us about Chinese New Year.
She made some stir fry and
noodles for us to try.
It was delicious - all the teachers wanted to try some too!
We have our own Chinese Restaurant
and Takeaway as our role play.
We have been customers, cooks, waiters,
waitresses and even dragons!
